Recently, I had the opportunity to work with a construction management company that initially tried to take their headshots in-house. Realizing the importance of professional quality, they contacted me to capture their team's portraits. We decided on a beautiful green space in a local park for the shoot, blending natural elements with a professional vibe.
When the company approached me, they shared their initial attempts at taking headshots themselves. They realized that achieving the right lighting, composition, and professional touch required an experienced photographer. 2. Scouting the Location
Choosing a green space in a local park offered a refreshing backdrop. I visited the park beforehand to scout the best spots with optimal lighting and minimal distractions. Planning the Session: Given the natural setting, we scheduled the shoot for mid-morning to early afternoon to take advantage of the light that would be well above the trees to create a nice shadow area to shoot under. This timing helped create flattering, evenly lit portraits without harsh shadows.

Lighting and Backgrounds: Using natural light was key. I positioned the subjects with the sun behind them, using reflectors to bounce light onto their faces and avoid harsh shadows. The green space provided a serene, uncluttered background, enhancing the professional look.
